Macquarie Scorpions

The Western Lake Macquarie club entered Newcastle Rugby League in 1960. They've had a few name changes over the years from Toronto Workers, to Macquarie United and currently known as Macquarie Scorpions.

Their home ground Peacock Field has been a fortress for many years and visiting teams find it tough to come away with a win. The Scorpions biggest rivalry is with their Eastern Lake Macquarie neighbour Lakes United Seagulls. The Lake Derby is a must for Rugby League fans.

2024 was a rebuilding year for the Scorps, with 2025 looking promising with the signings of former Knights halves, Jarrod Mullen & Luke Walsh.
