Maitland Pickers

Maitland Pickers evolved from a merger between Maitland United and Morpeth-East Maitland in 1943.
Their nickname originated from opposition players calling them "Pumpkin Pickers" as many of the Maitland players would be seen selling Pumpkins at the Markets before games on weekends.
Whilst the club has had its ups and down on and off the field, the Pickers have enjoyed a resurgence in recent times, transforming into the modern day powerhouse of Country Rugby League.
