The Western Suburbs Magpies are one of Rugby League's most historic clubs, with a legacy dating back to their establishment in 1908 as a foundation team in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL).

Throughout their history, the Magpies have produced many legendary players such as Keith Holman, Noel Kelly, and Tom Raudonikis. The club’s most successful era came in the 1950s and 1960s.

The Magpies played a vital role in fostering Rugby League at the grassroots level, with a junior nursery from Lidcombe to the Macathur Region in the South-West.

In 2000, the Western Suburbs Magpies merged with the Balmain Tigers to form the Wests Tigers, ensuring the club's legacy continues in the modern era of Rugby League. Despite the merger, the Magpies' identity lives on through their involvement in junior development and their presence in the NSW Cup, where they maintain their proud traditions.
