Western Suburbs Rosellas

Western Suburbs Rosellas is the most successful club side in Newcastle Rugby League and arguably one of the most successful in Country Rugby League.

Since 1910 the Rosellas have won the Newcastle Rugby League title 23 times, including three hat tricks in the 80’s, 90’s and most recently 2012,13 & 14, plus a Clayton Cup in 1992.

The "bird gang" has been home to many great players over the years, including Australian representative Johnny Raper, Wally Prigg, Keith Froome, Col Maxwell, Allan Buman, John Cootes and Ken Maddison.

Whilst the Rosellas record is one of the best, since COVID, the Rosellas have not played Finals Footy in First Grade.
