Formed in 2000 through a historic merger between the Western Suburbs Magpies and the Balmain Tigers, the joint venture represents a large area from Sydney’s inner-west to the south-west. The club proudly carries the rich traditions of its two foundation clubs.
The Tigers achieved early success, winning their first and only NRL premiership in 2005. Led by Benji Marshall and Scott Prince, the team’s thrilling and attacking style captivated fans, with Marshall’s iconic flick pass in the Grand Final becoming a defining moment in Rugby League history.
The club plays home games across multiple venues, including Leichhardt Oval, Campbelltown Sports Stadium, and Accor Stadium, reflecting its diverse regional support base. The Wests Tigers are committed to fostering grassroots Rugby League, with strong junior pathways ensuring the development of future stars.
